Netflix Spam campaign going wild

Netflix Spam campaign going wild

A big phishing campaign targeting Netflix credentials is undergoing at this moment. Our cybersecurity team says that hackers are using fake Netflix emails to steal login credentials from targeted victims.
All sent emails are very well crafted, they reach victims having the subject: Notice – Document followed by random numbers such 935-3726. Every email contains a message asking users to revalidate their login in an actual Netflix dialog box after which it leads them to a fake Netflix page.

The real threat in this doesn't lay in the actual theft of the account, explains our team. The more concerning problem is that many of the stolen credentials are sold on the dark web, and they can be reused to attack the same users on other accounts because many of them use same authentication credentials on multiple places which lead them into a more significant loss.
Because we care about our reader's safety and security we invited our top cybersecurity analyst to share some tips and tricks which will keep you and your data away from any phishing campaigns.

"First, every user should pay attention to any received emails and don't open anything which shouldn't be there like emails from places that you are not subscribed to, or emails from big companies like Netflix that have ambiguous subjects display. Always run everything that you receive through a top antivirus solution.
Second is to pay attention to the content, it must be in strict concordance with your account for example emails received in English from an account that is from a non-English speaking country. This thing is possible only if you have the language set to English on that specific account. Also, pay attention during this step at the URL displayed intro the browser's address, it must look genuine. The third and last thing you should pay attention is to always check if the message received have any aggressive messages like threatening of account suspension if any of the displayed demands are not completed. Remember, no company does that! It is only a trick used by the hackers to lure the victim into the trap", our analyst says.
